Product characteristics

Really Turf® is a product that can maintain uniform conditions and landscape throughout the year compared to natural turf. This is artificial turf with excellent stability, safety, comfort, eco-friendliness, and economic efficiency. When using Really Turf® directly on the soil, the use of Green Vista® Pro weed control under-gravel fabric will prevent weed growth through gaps and reduce labor, such as regular weeding.
This fabric has drain holes for drainage. This is a maintenance-free landscaping material that does not require labor, such as weeding, watering, and fertilization.

This product has denser piles than the old type and a matte finish, which make this a more realistic artificial turf. All products are antibacterial and fireproof for safety and a sense of security for small children and pets. The comfort of this product is improved with the additional static electricity control function.

The C-shaped cross-section of the straight pile disperses vertical pressure from above and reduces collapses. The cross-section is soft to the touch.

The reduced luster of the straight pile further highlights the green color and makes it look closer to natural turf. The slightly relaxed curl of the curling pile also makes this product look natural.

The already cut edges of the grid sheets make the seam less noticeable upon application.

Realistic artificial turf

This artificial turf blends in with nature and creates a very realistic layer of turf.
The structure of Really Turf® with its nice texture and great design consists of straight green piles in two colors and curling piles in two colors that appear to be withered grass in the lower layer. The piles in these four colors make this fabric blend in with the natural environment and look just like natural turf. Really Turf® can also be used in shady areas without sunlight instead of natural turf.

Maintenance-free

Natural turf requires proper management, such as mowing and weeding, several times a year, proper watering, and application of fertilizer. On the other hand, Really Turf® requires no maintenance and maintains a consistent landscape throughout the year. The use of Green Vista® Pro weed control and under-gravel fabric as a base layer shuts out weed growth through the drain holes of the turf.

Fashionable exterior
The high-class design matches both Japanese-style and Western-style landscapes and can be used in any situation. The fabric can also adhere to concrete and asphalt surfaces, which makes this product usable for renovations.

Reduction of accidents

The 40 mm long piles reduce damage to the legs and lower back and accidents, such as sprains during walking and broken bones upon falling.

High durability and dust control effect

The straight pile made of polyethylene, curling pile made by polypropylene, and the urethane backing material maintain high quality conditions. The fabric also has the effect of controlling dust in windy conditions.

This product satisfies flame retardant performance test criteria.

Purpose

This artificial turf can be used for various applications, including for front door approaches, gardens, and in front of a terrace, park, or balcony, as well as combined use with natural turf. When used in a garden, please use the Green Vista® Pro weed control under-gravel fabric as a base layer for weed control. When the fabric is secured, spread Really Turf® on the Green Vista® Pro weed control under-gravel fabric.
Finally, apply glue and secure the pins at the necessary sections to complete the application. This fabric can be used in various environments, such as on the soil, concrete surfaces, and asphalt surfaces.

Really Turf® is an artificial turf that blends well with nature. The use of four types of piles creates coloration that resembles natural turf. The soft pile with its good texture provides a safe environment for children and pets. Using Really Turf® alone on the ground allows weed growth through water drain holes. Thus, the use of the Green Vista® weed control under-gravel fabric is recommended as the base layer for weed control. While natural turf requires tedious maintenance, Really Turf® can maintain a nice landscape throughout the year.

Structure of Really Turf®

Really Turf® consists of four types of piles, including straight piles and curling piles, in different colors and urethane backing. The pile is made of PE and PP with UV protection, which preserves the good appearance for a long period of time.

How to install

Installation procedure (on soil)

STEP 1	Conduct leveling and roll compacting beforehand to solidify the ground.
STEP 2	Lay Xavan® with weed control effect.
STEP 3	Temporarily place Really Turf® to fit to the shape of the ground before cutting the edges of Xavan®.
STEP 4	After temporarily placing all Really Turf®, carefully lift the turf by keeping it in place and apply the special glue to the back.
STEP 5	Since the glue may protrude from the edges, apply it while avoiding the edges, joints, and drain holes and then uniformly spread it using a comb pallet.
STEP 6	After bonding, secure the fabric using ten pins per square meter without pinching the pile.
STEP 7	After cutting Xavan® at the edges, remove the remaining piles and clean the fabric. Then raise the pile using a rake or by hand. ■ Use a cutter to cut Really Turf®. Insert the blade from the back of the base. *Use of scissors results in cutting the pile more than necessary and may create a poor appearance. ■ The grain of the turf has a front side and a backside. Use them based on preferences. ■ Increase the number of pins and the amount of glue depending on the on-site conditions (e.g. on slopes or windy locations). ■ Create smooth ground by leveling. Voids may be created beneath the turf if the ground is uneven. ■ For installation on a slope, use enough glue and pins. Or, the turf may be removed. ■ If a bulge of glue is created during glue application, the glue may pop out through the water drain holes. Be sure to uniformly spread the glue using a comb pallet. ■ Prevent the glue from sticking to the pile during application. If glue sticks to the pile, remove it after hardening. ■ When Rubiron® is used, uniformly spread the glue throughout the entire surface using the attached comb pallet. ■ To improve the weed control effect, secure Xavan® with pins at a rate of two pins per square meter and bond the periphery and lifted sections with the special glue. ■ When applying on a concrete surface, bond the fabric using both the special glue and double-sided tape. In this process, be sure to place a weight on areas on which glue is applied to press the turf firmly onto the concrete surface. ■ The special glue is not a quick-dry type. It requires one to two days of drying and protection. When the glue absorbs moisture before drying, foaming and swelling may occur. Please plan the installation schedule based on weather forecasts for the following days. ■ When applying on a rooftop or veranda, use the special glue and double-sided tapes at the joints and along the periphery for secure adhesion to the structures. ■ Be sure to apply the special glue on the entire surface for adhesion in areas with heavy traffic of people and/or vehicles. Drying/protection period [one to two days in summer and there to five days in winter]

FAQs

How is Really Turf® superior to artificial turf from other companies?: First of all, the appearance and texture are extremely natural. All products are fireproof and antibacterial and have a static electricity prevention function. While the foundation on the backside of artificial turf from other companies is made of latex, that of Really Turf® is made of urethane with high humidity resistance, which means a longer service life with Really Turf®.
What is the service life of Really Turf®?: The service life is approximately ten years when used outside.
How long does the antibacterial effect last?: It lasts for about five years.
Does the Really Turf® have a specific direction for installation?: Really Turf® has grain. Please install the turf so that the grain runs in the same direction.
Is Really Turf® available in small cuts?: We can cut the length from 10 meters to 5 meters (cut fee applies).
I would like to install artificial turf to practice putting in my garden with soil as the ground. Can I use Really Turf® for this purpose?: Yes. Compact the soil by rolling to create a level surface. If the ground is uneven, the ball will not roll smoothly.
Can a car drive over Really Turf®?: It will not be a problem if it occurs a few times, but please avoid constantly driving cars over Really Turf®. If cars frequently drive over Really Turf®, that section will be damaged more rapidly. In addition, the weight and pressure of the car and tires will permanently collapse the pile.
What happens when the turf is damaged?: The tips of the piles will split, and the piles will gradually be removed and appear thin.
Can I use Really Turf® on a dog park?: If dogs run in specific sections or courses, piles of that section will become damaged. Please pick up feces, and rinse urine with water.
Does Really Turf® become discolored from chemicals or UV rays?: Really Turf® will maintain its original color for about five years even when continuously exposed to UV rays.
How do we clean Really Turf®?: Please remove litter with a blower or rake.
Can I use Really Turf® for sports?: This product is specifically designed for landscaping. Using this product for sports is not recommended.
Does falling on Really Turf® cause injuries, such as cutting the hands or feet?: Cutting the hands or feet is unlikely, but sliding on Really Turf® may cause burns from friction.
What is the pile made of?: The straight pile is made of polyethylene and the curling pile is made of polypropylene.
Does Really Turf® burn when a lighted cigarette or ash falls on it?: The section onto which the fire falls will melt, but the fire will not spread. Really Turf® is certified fireproof.
Can I enjoy fireworks or barbeques on Really Turf®?: The section onto which fire falls will melt, but the fire will not spread. Really Turf® is certified fireproof.
Is there a possibility that piles will collapse from snow accumulation or freezing in cold regions?: The piles will not collapse because the low temperature tolerance of polyethylene, the main material, is -60 degrees Celsius.
Is a product warranty available?: No.
Is Really Turf® water permeable?: The materials are not water permeable, but Really Turf® has water drain holes through which water can pass through.
Do the piles fall off?: Piles are securely attached to prevent them from falling off. Yet, they may fall off when pulled strongly. Please do not pluck the piles off.
Can I use Really Turf® outdoors? Does Really Turf® come with Fire Retardant Certification Labels?: Fireproof certification is obtained for all product types for the safety and security of customers. Fire Retardant Certification Labels are also available.
Does Really Turf® come with a certification or warranty for its antibacterial effect?　Does the product have any marks on it?: Really Turf® is registered with JIS L 1902 (Antimicrobial Fabric Test).
Does the pile collapse when it is stepped on?: Regular brushing is required to maintain a good appearance.
How can I raise collapsed piles?: Piles will stand up beautifully if brushed with a bamboo broom or rake and litter can also be removed.
Is Really Turf® coated with protection against UV rays?: Yes.
Can I use Really Turf® for practicing with irons (golf)?: The piles are securely sewn into the base, but the product is designed for landscaping. Please do not use this product for the main purpose of practicing golf. Practicing golf on Really Turf® a few times will not be a problem.
Does the use of Really Turf® reduce temperature rises compared to exposed concrete or asphalt surfaces? Also, will it reduce the environmental load and result in protecting the environment?: This product has no effect of reducing temperature increases. Possible reduction of the environmental load includes water conservation because Really Turf® does not require watering. Really Turf® also does not need the application of fertilizer or chemical products. When installing Really Turf® on the soil, the burden of weeding and repairing can be reduced by using weed control fabrics as a base layer.
If Really Turf® is used on a rooftop, does it provide an insulation effect for rooms beneath the roof?: We do not have technical data concerning insulation performance.
Is Really Turf® counted as a green area?: Really Turf® is categorized as a carpet rather than a plant. Thus, it is not counted as a green area.
When Really Turf® is glued onto a concrete surface, does it block the water drain holes and cause water to accumulate?: Even when water drain holes are blocked, the concrete surface usually has a drainage slope, and water will flow above the base layer of Really Turf® without any problem.
Can I install Really Turf® alone?: Installation is easy; simply spread Really Turf® on the surface.
Please describe how to dispose of Really Turf®.: Really Turf® is usually categorized as non-industrial waste. Please check your municipality for details.
In which country is Really Turf® made?: It is made in China.
Does Really Turf® have a weed control function?: Yes. Yet, weeds may grow through the many water drain holes; thus, the installation of a weed control fabric underneath is recommended.
Is the weed control fabric necessary as a base layer?: A weed control fabric is required as a base layer for the adhesion of the joints of artificial turf and to prevent weed growth through the water drain holes.
Can I use any type of weed control fabric?: Please use the Xavan®/Plantex®240 strong type in locations where weeds in the Poaceae family, such as the field horsetail, Congo grass, and reeds with strong penetration force, are growing.
Do I need glue?: Glue is required to improve adhesion with the base layer and for the adhesion on the joints of artificial turf.
Is it necessary to put rubber chips and sand?: Putting rubber chips or sand is not necessary. Please use Really Turf® directly on the ground. If you may put rubber chips or sand, it would hide the curling piles and alter the appearance.
How can I securely install Really Turf®?: Please secure Really Turf® with pins if it is on soil. When using it on a concrete or FRP surface, such as in veranda or rooftop, the use of double-sided tape or glue is recommended.
Can I use any kind of pin to secure Really Turf®? Can I use long nails?: Please use special pins (black) for Really Turf® for the 25 mm and 40 mm types.
How many of the special pins do I need?: About 15 pins per square meter are the guideline when a weed control fabric is used underneath.
How can I secure the turf with special pins?: Please put special pins into the gaps of the pile seams. Diagonally drive the pins into the joints of the artificial turf by connecting the base materials and straddling over the connected sheets.
What should I do if the soil of the installation site is poorly drained?: Please create a water drain layer (simple conduit) using crushed rock or stones to improve the drain performance of the soil.
Can I cut Really Turf® by myself?: Really Turf® can be cut using a cutter.
When installing the artificial turf, should GL be at the tip of the pile or at the top side of the base material?: Please install Really Turf® so that the top side of the base material and GL are flat.
